Kolkata gangrape: Police begin reconstruction

Police have begun the process of reconstruction of the incident in which a 21-year-old shopping mall employee was allegedly gangraped Sunday. Md Hamid, the main accused, was taken to different locations Wednesday by investigation officers. “We have initiated the reconstruction. Hamid was also sent for a medical test today. Forensic experts visited the place and collected evidence,” P K Ghosh, Joint CP (crime), said Wednesday. It was also learnt that the police were looking into the phone call details of Hamid as well as the victim. Footages of CCTVs installed outside the mall where the victim works is being looked into.  CCTV footages installed at the Howrah Bridge are being scanned to verify Hamid’s claim that he escorted the victim to the station. The owner of the truck in which the alleged gangrape took place was also summoned. Police said once the girl would be fit to give a statement, an artist would be brought in to make sketches other accused.
