Nearly a week after a kidney racket was busted in the city, the Detective department of the Kolkata police has sent out teams to Delhi,Coimbatore and Chandigarh in search for the alleged kingpin in the case Manik Chowdhury.
The Kolkata police had stumbled upon the racket last week after one of the intended victims, 21-year-old Suman Rudra, alleged that three persons Mithun,Hriday and a third accused had lured him to a city hospital,as part of the trap,on the pretext of finding him a job.
The police have reportedly found the Bihar-based doctor who had allegedly contacted the accused for a kidney. The doctor had apparently approached a hospital in Chandigarh initially for the kidney. Several hospitals in Delhi are also under the scanner as many fake documents recovered from another accused,Chandana Mukherjee of Thakurpukur, raise questions on some of the renowned hospitals in the capital.
