Girl goes missing,family receives ransom call

The family of Karishma Jaiswal,a student of B-Com third year at Barackpore’s Surendranath College who went missing on Friday,has claimed receiving a ransom call of Rs 10 lakh.

The family of Karishma Jaiswal,a student of B-Com third year at Barackpore’s Surendranath College who went missing on Friday,has claimed receiving a ransom call of Rs 10 lakh. Rajkumar Jaiswal,a businessman,said the abductors of her daughter made the call from her cellphone and accused the police of not cooperating with them. Despite informing the police that we have received ransom calls,the police have failed to trace the abductors,he said. Jaiswal (19) had gone to Naihati to appear for an examination. Biswajit Ghosh,Additional Deputy Commissioner of Barrackpore,said they have not received any evidence of ransom calls. Police tracked some of the calls and it was found that calls are coming from Halisahar area of North 24-Parganas.
