A day after he alleged Trinamool Congress’ Birbhum district president of hatching a plot to kill his father, slain party leader Ashok Ghosh’s son Biswajit Ghosh lodged a murder complaint against 12 TMC men, including Khairashol block president Ashoka Mukherjee, but omitted the name of Anubrata Mondal.

However,Biswajit said he will submit a written complaint against Mondal to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

“I have included the names of all the TMC leaders and workers involved in the murder. I did not include Mondal’s name as I got assurance from the chief minister through Suri MLA Swapan Ghosh that justice will be done. I have decided to write a letter to Didi mentioning Mondal’s name,” Biswajit said.

Meanwhile, police have arrested five persons in connection to the murder.

Sources in police said,Sheikh Selim,an arrested TMC member, had hired two “supari killers” to murder Ghosh. The supari killers were identified as Annuj Singh and Alamat Ansari. Both are among the arrested.

“The supari killers are the residents of Pandebswar in Burdwan. They were hired by Shiekh Selim and given Rs 3 lakh to kill Ashok Ghosh,” a senior police official said.

He said the murder was an outcome of clash between two factions in Khairashol over the share of profit earned from the supply of coal to several mining companies.

Contacted,Anubrata Mondal, said,“The victim’s family has been forced to talk against me. Ashok Ghosh was murdered by the CPM-backed goons and Ashok Mukherjee does not have any connection with the murder.”
