The Samajwadi Party on Monday left the CPM red-faced by telling the media that Sanjay Dalmiya, who met senior CPM leaders Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Gautam Deb on Sunday to discuss formation of a Third Front, was not even a member of the party.

“Sanjay Dalmiya is not even a member of the party, let alone a general secretary. He has no authority to discuss matters like the Third Front. The matter can be discussed in Delhi and by no less a person than our president Mulayam Singh Yadav. We don’t know any Sanjay Dalmiya and we do not know how he could go there,” SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said here.
