Clash in Birbhum between two groups,RAF deployed

A clash broke out between two groups at Basapar in Nanoor police station of Birbhum district on Sunday.

A clash broke out between two groups at Basapar in Nanoor police station of Birbhum district on Sunday.

Crude bombs were used indiscriminately and two thatched houses were set on fire at Naoda village near Basapara,policesources said.

Local people said both the groups tried to take control of the Basapara village market leading to the clash in the morning. Later,it spread to surrounding areas.

Superintendent of Police Nishat Parvez said forces including RAF personnel were deployed in the area and the situation was now under control.

“No one has been arrested so far but raids are going on,” said Parvez.

Tension prevailed in Basapar where the locals claimed that one was injured in the clash. The police,however,did not confirm any casualty in the violence.
