After Rs 1-lakh ex-gratia,Nitish offers to rehabilitate victim’s family

Soon after sending a police team with a cheque of Rs 1 lakh for the family of the girl who was gangraped twice and died after she was allegedly set on fire by two of the accused,Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Thursday promised to rehabilitate the family in Bihar if they chose to do so.

Soon after sending a police team with a cheque of Rs 1 lakh for the family of the girl who was gangraped twice and died after she was allegedly set on fire by two of the accused,Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Thursday promised to rehabilitate the family in Bihar if they chose to do so.

Nitish sent Inspector General of Police,Special Branch,G S Gangwar to meet the family,which originally is from Bihar and to assist them in any way possible. Gangwar will also hand over the cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the family .

“I am deeply saddened over the incident which deserves condemnation in the strongest words,” Nitish told reporters.

The state government would provide assistance needed to rehabilitate the family if they decides to relocate to their native place in Bihar,he said,adding that he and the people of Bihar were fully behind the victim’s family.

Nitish said that the Director General of Police Abhayanand had spoken to his West Bengal counterpart to find out the details of the incident.

He said that he also directed Gangwar to meet police officers in Kolkata to find out details of the case and submit a report to the Bihar government.
