Local member of parliament Kirron Kher inaugurated a green park and a tubewell in Dadumajra Colony, Chandigarh, on Saturday.
At the inauguration ceremony, Kher appreciated the work and said that the civic body has been providing best possible basic amenities to the residents of Chandigarh at a very fast speed. While addressing the gathering Saturday, Mayor Arun Sood said that in this financial year, the municipal corporation has completed different developmental projects in the Dadumajra area amounting to Rs 11.5 crore.
While speaking about the solution of dumping area, the Mayor assured the local residents for early provision of waste to energy plant, which will not only generate energy but also get rid of the long pending problem of foul smell of garbage.
Sood also listed various resident-friendly projects initiated by the Municipal Corporation during this year including mechanised road sweeping concept, laying of additional water pipe lines and rehabilitation of street vendors in the city.
