The CBI on Monday presented a challan against 34 accused in the Dangawas mass murders where six Dalits were allegedly killed by members of the dominant community in May last year.
“The 34 accused are absconding at the moment. We hope the CBI will arrest them soon,” Satish Kumar, from the Centre for Dalit Rights, which provides legal assistance to the victims, said.
The special CBI court in Ajmer issued arrest warrants against the accused following the CBI’s request for the same. The Bureau has already arrested six people in the case.
