Green belt inaugurated in Sector 15: Kirron Kher urges citizens to keep Chandigarh clean

While inaugurating a green belt in Sector 15 C and D, Kher appreciated the work done by the municipal corporation and said this garden will be beneficial for all residents including young, old and children.

Member of Parliament Kirron Kher on Monday said every citizen should take part in Swachh Bharat Mission and keep their surroundings cleaner and more beautiful.

While inaugurating a green belt in Sector 15 C and D, Kher appreciated the work done by the municipal corporation and said this garden will be beneficial for all residents including young, old and children.

Mayor Arun Sood, who was also present, said special features of the Garden of Shadows are chyme trees, play equipment for children, walking track, benches, huts, ornamental trees and others.

Different flower beds have been developed in the park having Zinia and Ficaus flowers, Sood added.

The garden has been developed on 5.6 acres of land with a walking track (footpath) of 1.03km.

Area councillor Saurabh Joshi said the total expenditure of the park was around Rs 39.51 lakh. It consisted of civil works like footpath and toe wall, horticulture works railing and huts and electrical polls and high mast lights.
