Chandigarh: Golden jubilee celebrations of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College begins

A blood donation camp was also organised by the NSS unit in collaboration with a team of doctors from the PGIMER.

The three-day golden jubilee celebrations of Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College, Sector 26, began on the campus in Chandigarh Tuesday. Students of the college’s Gurmat Vichar Sabha performed “Akhand Path” to mark the begining of the celebrations.

A blood donation camp was also organised by the NSS unit in collaboration with a team of doctors from the PGIMER. About 154 units of blood was collected during the camp, which was inaugurated by Gurdev Singh Brar and JS Bala, President and Secretary, respectively, of the Sikh Educational Society, in the presence of Principal Professor Kuldip Singh. Bikram Rana, Regional Director, NSS, Subhash, state NSS officer, and Pardeep Sharma, Programme Officer, Panjab University, distributed certificates and trophies among the donors.
Competitions in gatka, turban tying and Gurbani recitation are were also held at the programme.
The celebrations will conclude on Thursday.
