Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is likely to celebrate his birthday on December 13 at his birthplace in Goa where he is also expected to address a ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally, a BJP functionary said Wednesday. “Parrikar will be celebrating his birthday at Parra, the village where he was born and has an ancestral house. The village is next to Mapusa town, where he celebrates all festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Christmas,” BJP legislator Michael Lobo, representing Calangute constituency, said.
The party workers and well-wishers will prepare a special cake for the Defence Minister. “The theme of the cake will be defence. It will be decorated with miniature airplanes, tanks, guns and others. We want to salute the son of soil, our own leader,” Lobo said.
Parrikar will address a ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally in Parra on his birthday. “We are expecting more than 6,000 people to attend the rally,” Lobo added.
