ICSE: Results of classes X,XII likely to be out today

The much-awaited results of classes X and XII for the session 2012-13 conducted by Indian Certificate Secondary Education (ICSE) are most likely to be declared after 3 pm on Friday.

Making it easy for the students,the details of the results will also be made available through short service message (SMS). To get the results on mobile phones,the students have to type their index number like ICSE T6758010 and send it to any of the numbers: 58888,51818,56263 and 5676750.

From the Tricity,150 students appeared for class XII ICSE exams while in case of class X,a total of 1,500 students took the exams.

However,the results of classes X and XII conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are likely to be declared by May 20. However,the regional office of CBSE here in Panchkula also made it clear that if the said results were not out by May 20,then by May 25,the results of both the classes would be out one after another.

In an attempt to help the students to get their results easily on their mobile phones,the CBSE is working on a mechanism where some numbers will be flashed on its website and students through SMS can send their roll number on those numbers to get details of their marks.

Talking to Chandigarh Newsline,CBSE regional director R J Khanderao said,“Preparations of results are under process. Most likely the results will be out by May 20,and if this date is missed then by May 25,we will try to declare the results.”

Asked about the SMS service,he said that some numbers would be flashed on the website on the day of the results. Students could message their roll numbers and they would get an instant reply.

As many as 29,475 students took classes X and XII exams at 39 exam centers located in Chandigarh,Mohali and Panchkula. As per the official data,in the tricity,a total of 11,966 class X students and 17,509 students of class XII sat for the examination.
