A woman delivered a baby girl on Friday evening at the Dwarka Sector-10 Metro station.
After the delivery, woman constables of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), in charge of Metro security, said mother and baby left for the hospital.
“The woman was travelling with her husband to Dwarka Sector-21. At Sector-10 station around 8.45 pm, she had labour pain and could not walk. Immediately, women CISF constables were called to help her.
The woman delivered the baby on platform no 2 of the station. Meanwhile, a CAT ambulance was called, which took mother and daughter to a nearby hospital.
Both looked fine as they left for hospital,” a source said.
According to CISF officers, no doctor was available at the station at the time and it wasn’t very crowded. “Every attempt was made to ensure that she was given medical attention quickly and that she and her daughter were safe,” a CISF officer said.
