Woman alleges gangrape by brothers-in-law

A 33-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by five of her relatives in South Delhi on Wednesday morning.

A 33-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by five of her relatives in South Delhi on Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported from Safdarjung Enclave. According to police,the woman who works as a sweeper,approached the police between 2 am and 3 am to register a complaint that she had been gangraped.

“According to her complaint,she was sleeping when two of her brothers-in-law came and forced themselves upon her. They took turns to rape her while three others had held her hands and feet and gagged her to prevent her from crying out for help,” a police officer said.

After the incident,She woman claimed that she was threatened by the men with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anybody.

However,she approached the Safdarjung Enclave police station and a case of gangrape had been registered,police said.

The woman is married and has two children,police said.
