Snob Value

Given that Arjun Rampal had a blink-and-miss appearance in Ra.One,he should be vying for attention from his fans. But the actor, who is known to be a tad moody, snubbed a group of girls who wanted to get a glimpse of him. At a recent shoot,he was resting in the vanity van between shots when some girls — spotting his van — requested the staff to let them meet him. Not in a mood to comply,Rampal asked his staff to park the van elsewhere and take his name off it. Ouch.

Slithering Passion

Remember Dimpy Ganguly, who became famous for marrying Rahul Mahajan on a reality show? She is back on the small screen that gave her popularity and publicity. This time, however,in a fiction show called Kahani Chandrakanta Ki. Dimpy will be playing the role of Naagin Jwala,an ichchadaari naagin who is plotting a revenge on daaku Mangal Singh for killing her beloved Naag Jeewan,a male serpent. Does the plot sound familiar? Most Bollywood directors would agree.

Tune in to Indie Rock

A trend had picked up in 2010 of doing away with a dedicated music director for a film and instead getting various artistes to contribute songs. Striker,I Am and Raajneeti were a few such examples. This year,Balaji Motion Pictures is doing the same with Shootout At Wadala. While the musicians who will be working on the ensemble soundtrack are yet to be finalised, word has it that Indie rock bands might be approached for a few tracks that will be a part of the background score. Between all the negativity around the film — caused by director Sanjay Gupta’s fallout with Sanjay Dutt,Vivek Oberoi and recently, with Asin — this sounds like good news.
