After a three-year association with Sundance Institute, Mumbai Mantra has started a new initiative for screenwriters. Based on entries, 100 stories will be selected and their writers will attend an intensive two-day workshop across major cities of the country.
The last date for entries is August 30.
Even those who do not make it to the list, can attend the first day of the workshop where screenwriters will be helped with writing and pitching their stories to producers, financiers and distributors. After the workshop, the 100 screenwriters will get two months to submit a screenplay out of which 12-15 writers will attend a five-day lab. The lab will culminate in a Pitch Event, where the filmmakers will meet producers and film festival curators. Anjum Rajabali, convenor for the programme says, “Indian screenwriting is in an exciting phase.”
