Unable to pay rent, three tenants kidnap landlord’s son, arrested: Police

During investigation, police found CCTV footage which showed that the accused, identified as Sabir Ali and his wife Rinku Sarkar, had kidnapped the child.

Three persons, including two women, allegedly kidnapped their landlord’s son from outside his school in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area as they were unable to pay the rent.

“With the help of CCTV footage, all three have been arrested and sent to 14 days in judicial custody,” said DCP (south) Prem Nath Monday.

He said on 16 March, police received information that a child had been kidnapped outside Vasant Public School. “The complainant, Dharmender, told police that he had dropped his nine-year-old daughter and five-year-old son outside school, from where his son was kidnapped,” he added.

During investigation, police found CCTV footage which showed that the accused, identified as Sabir Ali and his wife Rinku Sarkar, had kidnapped the child. Police rescued the child from the house of their associate, Dolly Mondal.
