DAYS AFTER Ghaziabad Police found the body of a 26-year-old businessman from inside a 12-foot drain in Kavi Nagar, Delhi Police Tuesday arrested two people for allegedly kidnapping and killing him. Police said the accused, Rahul and Himanshu, were arrested on Tuesday evening.

Investigation so far has revealed that two property dealers had paid the two arrested accused and an absconding accused Rs 2 lakh to kidnap the victim, Rahul Saxena. The three men, however, beat him up mercilessly — leading to his death, police said, adding, “Efforts are on to nab the absconding man.”

Police said Saxena ran a two-wheeler showroom in Buddh Vihar, and went missing on Tuesday last week.
Police said Saxena had left in his Etios car to meet two property dealers, identified as Sheilu and Bijendra, who owed him money, just before he went missing.

“During questioning, the arrested persons told police that they met Sheilu and Bijendra few days ago. The property dealers gave them Rs 2 lakh to kidnap Saxena. The arrested accused said the plan to kidnap him was hatched after the property dealers got to know that Saxena had recently made a significant amount of money,” an officer familiar with the investigation said.
