Two personal security officers of two real estate businessmen were allegedly shot dead by the personal security officer of another real estate businessman in councillor Krishan Pehelwan’s farmhouse in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh area, police said Saturday.
The shooting occurred Friday night inside Pehelwan’s farmhouse during a party, added the police. Pehelwan was not present at the time of the shooting, said the police, maintaining that the it was not related to any gang war. In March last year, Pehelwan’s brother Bharat Singh, who was a former MLA, was shot dead in an old gang war related matter, said sources.

Dependra Pathak, joint commissioner of police (southwest), said the deceased were identified as Ashok Kumar, who was once with BSF, and Fauji. They worked for two different property dealers in southwest Delhi. “Initial investigation has revealed that both the victims were guests in a party at Pehelwan’s farmhouse.”
The accused was identified as Joginder, the security officer of another real estate businessman.
Later, police also arrested Pehelwan and two others, identified as Pramod and Yogesh, on charges of destroying evidence at the scene of the shooting, said sources. “The arrested persons claimed the shooting took place on the main road and not in the farmhouse,” said a police officer. “CCTV footage has been taken away from the spot and the scene of shooting has also been washed,” added the officer.
According to the officer, investigation revealed guests at the party were inebriated when an argument broke out and people abused each other. “To show supremacy, Joginder snatched a pistol from Kumar and allegedly fired at him and Fauji. Some people at the party took Kumar and Fauji to a private hospital and fled after admitting them there,” added the officer. Four shots were fired, said the officer.
Police came to know of the shooting at 11.40 pm from the hospital. One of the victims was dead by the time he was taken to the hospital, while the other died in the hospital, said the officer. “Joginder, a resident of Bahadurgarh in Haryana, was arrested on charges of murder,” added the officer. Police have found Kumar hailed from Etah in UP and took voluntary retirement from BSF. Fauji’s details are being ascertained, said an officer.
