Speaking on the need to curb fuel consumption,Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday said that though the government was trying hard to switch to battery-operated technology,it was not easy.

“Because we get used to using a certain technology, switching over to other technology is often difficult. We have tried switching over to solar energy and battery-operated technology, but have been disappointed by the results,” said Dikshit, addressing the 12th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit.

One of the greatest challenges facing the world was the need to develop ecological sustainability that was not in contradiction with economic growth, she said.
