Three five-year-old children — two boys and a girl — were allegedly sexually assaulted by a teenager at a creche in Connaught Place.

The 12-year-old boy who allegedly sexually assaulted them also goes to the same creche.

The incident came to light after the girl told her mother that a teenager at the creche had touched her inappropriately. The girl’s mother then contacted a friend, who also sends her five-year-old son to the same creche. When she enquired about the teenager from his son,he too complained that the 12-year-old had touched him inappropriately.

“The five-year-old girl told her mother that the teenager used to misbehave with children at the creche and they were scared to complain against him. The girl alleged that he starts misbehaving with them after they retire to bed and there are no attendants around to keep watch. When I spoke to my son about it,he also alleged that he had been sexually assaulted by the 12-year-old. I told my friend that we would meet the supervisor of the creche and take up the matter,” the boy’s mother told Newsline.

She said her son was initially scared to talk about it but when she insisted,he spoke about it in detail. “I was shocked to hear what he told me. He said the 12-year-old would pretend to be asleep till the creche employees left their room. Then he used to sexually abuse them,” she alleged.

“He told me that the teenager used to touch them inappropriately and kiss them. The teenager also threatened them not to disclose the incident to either the creche employees or to us,” she alleged further.

Another boy too has alleged he was sexually abused by the teenager.

The parents of the children then approached the creche supervisor but he allegedly refused to act on their complaint. “The supervisor refused to believe the allegations and said it was not possible. When we asked him to call the accused boy’s parents,he flatly refused. Instead of taking action,he asked us to take our children back and not send them to the creche till the boy was there. He told us we could send our children again after September,” she alleged.

Based on the complaint of the parents, police have registered a case against the teenager. DCP (New Delhi) S B S Tyagi said,“We have registered a case against the juvenile in the matter. We will certainly look at the role of the management of the creche in the case.”
