At the Delhi BJP’s executive committee meeting Saturday, party unit chief Satish Upadhyay urged members to take the idea of nationalism to the grassroots level and ensure that it reached even the lowest strata of society.
A senior leader, who was present at the meeting, said, “He told us that we should not tolerate any insult to the nation. He said we need to take forward the sentiment of nationalism”.
The executive meeting of the state unit is crucial, as it takes forwards the agenda decided by the party’s national executive. Party leaders are focusing on the forthcoming municipal by-polls, said sources.
“The strategy for the state unit is being discussed in the meeting, keeping the national executive’s agenda as the core point. This time, the agenda is to win the municipal polls in Delhi,” said another party leader.
The Delhi BJP has also decided to hold a meeting of the state executive committee within a week of the national executive committee, and the district executive committee meeting a week later. The party will also form a core group of leaders at the district level. “The work that needs to be done in each district will be decided in these executive meetings,” said another leader.
