Police on Thursday questioned Sunanda Pushkar’s son Shiv Menon for over eight hours, in connection with her murder. Questioning was still on at the time of filing this report.
Menon was called in at 1.30 pm to the AATS office in Vasant Kunj and was questioned by the five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT).
According to sources, the SIT asked Menon about Pushkar’s relationship with Tharoor. The team also asked Menon to recall the last conversation he had with Pushkar.
He was also said to have been asked about his mother’s health during her last days and if she was upset with Tharoor over his “friendship” with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.
Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi told reporters that they will call Tharoor and his domestic servant Narayan Singh in a day or two for questioning.
Narayan had given a statement before the SDM stating that Tharoor and Pushkar had a fight a night before she was found dead. He had earlier been called for questioning on January 7.
Bassi, on Wednesday, had said Menon had been summoned and had reached the capital.
The SIT has questioned at least 15 people in connection with the case so far.
