Stephen’s principal files police complaint against college official

'Certain irregularities of funds have come to light. The matter has been reported to police,' Thampu said.

St Stephen’s College principal Valson Thampu has lodged a police complaint against Subhas Kumar Dash, an administrative officer of the college, alleging that he is involved in “certain irregularities”.

Thampu had suspended Dash last year for “gross misconduct”. Dash, in turn, had accused Thampu of forcing him to convert to Christianity. Dash had also sent a legal notice to the principal this month for reportedly making him work in the storeroom of the college.
At the governing body meeting on Monday, college authorities said they had filed a complaint against Dash.  But no FIR has been registered yet.

“Certain irregularities of funds have come to light. The matter has been reported to police,” Thampu said.

Dash claimed that the bills Thampu was referring to were “blank”. He said he has still not been given a copy of it. “If Thampu has acted in this manner, then it is a contempt of the previous court order,” Dash said.
