Noida police arrested a 19-year-old Aakash Tyagi for the murder of his 25-year-old aunt on July 24. She was found dead with stab wounds stabbed in her Greater Noida home.
Police said the womans body was found by her husband. Their 10-month-old son was at home at the time of the incident. He was unharmed, police said.
Senior police officers said Aakash murdered his aunt after she rejected his advances.
Since he was a family member, she would speak to him whenever he went to her house. Aakash, however, misunderstood her intentions. On July 24,he went to her house, when he knew her husband and his brother, who also lived in the house, would not be there. The two had an argument after she rejected his advances. In anger,he attacked her with a knife, a senior officer said.
During investigations,Aakash told police about another accused,Rahul Sharma, who is yet to be arrested. We have sent teams to Momura and Meerut to arrest Sharma, SSP Preetinder Singh said.
The first clue was a blood stained bus ticket, which police found at the crime scene.
The bus ticket showed that two persons had boarded a bus from Noida Sector-35 at 10.31 am,and had got off at Jagat Farms. We investigated on the basis of the ticket and arrested Aakash. We have recovered his bloodstained clothes. Aakash told police that after killing his aunt,he made the house look like it had been ransacked, a senior police officer said.
