SP member shot dead in Gr Noida

A Samajwadi party member was shot dead by seven assailants in his Greater Noida home on Wednesday evening.

A Samajwadi party member was shot dead by seven assailants in his Greater Noida home on Wednesday evening.

A senior police officer said the man has been identified as Chaman Bhati,a resident of Dabra village in Greater Noida.

A senior police officer said: “The family has named 7seven accused,with whom the victim had an old enmity. They allegedly came in a Mahindra Scorpio,scaled the wall of Bhati’s residence and fired at least 10 shots at him. He was killed on the spot as five bullets hit him.”

Senior Superintendent of Police Preetinder Singh said: “We have spoken with the district head of the Samajwadi Party,who said that while Bhati was a member of the party,he did not hold a post. We are tracking the assailants.”

When family members heard the shots,they rushed out of the house to find Bhati’s body in the garden,where the incident took place around 7.30 pm.
