Six bus robbers arrested

Six persons were arrested by the West District Police on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in a series of bus robberies.

Six persons were arrested by the West District Police on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in a series of bus robberies. The accused were on their way to plan another robbery when they were apprehended,police said. “The gang,headed by Vikram Kumar,a resident of Mangolpuri was arrested from Meera Bagh area on May 2 while they were planning to rob a running bus near Peera Garhi. They were travelling in a stolen car,which contained illegal weapons,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (West) V Renganathan. Four button-activated knives,one WagonR car and one iron chain were allegedly recovered from their possession. While attempting a bus robbery,four of them would board a bus while the other two would chase it in a car,which would ensure that they could escape after committing the crime,police said.
