“She claims she informed the beat staff of her area, who later conducted a raid at the scrap dealer’s home and took him to Jahangirpuri police station for further investigation,” a senior police officer said.

On November 15, the complainant claimed, she came to know that the scrap dealer had been let off and that police had taken all his money. She then called the Police Control Room.

“The woman alleged she was detained by police and taken to Jahangirpuri police station, where she was threatened by the SHO and asked to withdraw her complaint. She further alleged that beat constables took her out of the police station and asked her to leave after giving her Rs 2 lakh,” police said.

The woman approached the DCP with her complaint on Friday. The complaint was forwarded to the ADCP, who started questioning the SHO and his staff.
