It is a known fact that bridal couture forms a chunk of the fashion business in India. It is hardly surprising then that Narendra Kumar Ahmed, like many of his contemporaries,is also making a foray into the field. Ahmed, whose forte includes natty menswear and spunky creations for women,is now launching his first-ever bridal line at the upcoming Aamby Valley India Bridal Week that is scheduled to take place in Mumbai from September 12 to 17. The maiden collection of Narendra Kumar Bridal Couture draws inspiration from classical ballet traditions and one of the last great representatives of Romanticism in Russian classical music,Sergei Rachmaninoff. Slated to take place on September 16 as part of the third edition of the annual event, the show promises to offer traditional styles for the modern bride with liberal use of fabrics such as silk, velvet, georgette, soft satin and rich organza.
