The venue of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s dharna — Rail Bhawan — turned into a scene of chaos on Monday afternoon after scuffles broke out between Aam Aadmi Party supporters and police personnel, leaving an AAP MLA and several police officers injured.

After the incident, former journalist Ashutosh, who joined the AAP recently, was also seen having a tense discussion with senior police officers.

The scuffle took place after several protesters reportedly broke through the barricades in front of Shastri Bhawan. As they tried to make their way through to Kejriwal, a scuffle broke out as police personnel tried to stop them.
Amid the melee, AAP MLA Akhilesh Tripathi was seen being carried out of the venue to a nearby police jeep. The MLA from Model Town, who was reportedly injured during the scuffle, was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. However, doctors said his vitals were stable and that he had not sustained any major injuries.
Several protesters, including a girl, too alleged that they had been hit by police personnel. Five police personnel were also injured, with two of them being admitted to RML hospital. Doctors said they were stable.

Following this, AAP supporters reportedly informed Ashutosh that Transport minister Saurabh Bhardwaj had been detained by police. The former journalist is believed to have had a word with senior officers, which seemingly turned into a tense discussion.

However, when asked, DCP (New Delhi) SBS Tyagi said, “Yes, Ashutosh had come to enquire about the incident. We told him that we had not detained Bhardwaj. We had just refused to let his supporters in through the barricades. However, the minister was persistant and sat inside the police vehicle in protest, saying that police could arrest him with the others,” he said.
