Delhi Police has arrested a retired IPS officer and his brother for allegedly assaulting a driver who works for the transport department special commissioner in southwest Delhi’s Dabri. The incident came to light after the driver, Sanjay Roy, filed a complaint. Both were later released on bail.

Police said the accused live with their families in Dwarka and that the incident took place when the special commissioner, K K Dahiya, and principal secretary, Varsha Joshi, were returning from the Motor Licencing Office in Dwarka after an inspection.

Roy, in the complaint, said that retired IPS officer’s car hit his vehicle from the rear. “He and his brother pulled me out of the car and started assaulting me,” Roy alleged. Police said Joshi got down from her car and started filming the incident, following which the argument escalated.
