The Delhi government has decided to grant ownership rights to the original allottees in resettlement colonies which were developed between 1960 and 1980,Delhi Revenue Minister A K Walia told the Assembly on Friday. Walia said the government has sent a recommendation to this effect to the Centre. Around 2.5 lakh plots were allotted in 45 resettlement colonies,including Aruna Nagar and Majnu ka Tila. Officials said the Supreme Court had in September 2010 given its approval for granting ownership rights to the allottees.
