Punjab cops bust Delhi drug racket,5 arrested

Drugs worth over Rs 200 crore in the international market have been recovered from those arrested.

In a crack down on another Delhi-based multi-crore drug racket,the Punjab Police — in the last two days — arrested five persons,including a Myanmar national,from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.

ADGP (Law and Order) Dinkar Gupta said a new route was being used for smuggling synthetic drugs into North America through Myanmar and China. Drugs worth over Rs 200 crore in the international market have been recovered from those arrested.

They have been identified as Suresh Kumar alias Mainga (manager of a factory in Himachal Pradesh),Varinder Singh alias Raja,Hrang Tin Khara alias Adam Zanniat alias Robert,Rajesh Kumar Bansal and Ajay Jain.

“Robert was the main supplier of precursor chemicals to factories on the Myanmar-China border,” said Gupta.
