Police find woman’s body in pond,arrest daughter-in-law,lover

Two more persons were arrested on Thursday for the murder of a 40-year-old woman of Mokalwas village in Bilaspur.

Two more persons were arrested on Thursday for the murder of a 40-year-old woman of Mokalwas village in Bilaspur. Police had recovered her body from a pond on March 28.

The arrested have been identified as Jaiprakash and Pawan Singh,both residents of Kumbhawas village.

The police had on Wednesday arrested a 22-year-old woman in connection with the case.

According to police,the woman and Jaiprakash were having an affair,and when her husband’s mother learnt of the relationship,they murdered her.

Police said the victim’s husband accused his daughter-in-law and her lover of murdering his wife.

“We have arrested the other two accused,who will be produced in a city court on Friday. We have also recovered mobile phones and the motorcycle on which the body was taken and dumped into a pond,” said Babulal,SHO,Bilaspur police station.

Police said the arrested woman got married last July. Jaiprakash had,in fact,arranged the marriage. Police claimed she told them that her mother-in-law became suspicious of her relationship with Jaiprakash.

On March 26,Jaiprakash come to meet her. Police said she prepared dinner for everybody,but mixed sleeping pills in the food and gave it to her husband and her mother-in-law.

“After they fell unconscious,she called Jaiprakash,who came with his friend Pawan. They took the mother-in-law,who was unconscious,on Pawan’s motorcycle and dumped her in the pond where she drowned,” a police officer said.
