Delhi: People’s ideas for budget

Process of gathering people’s feedback from 11 designated Assembly constituencies will continue separately.

The government has begun acting on CM Arvind Kejriwal promise that the city’s people will have a role in making the budget for this year. The government will release advertisements this week, asking citizens to submit their suggestions, on how they would like development funds to be spent, to the Delhi secretariat by April 30.

A  senior AAP leader said as the government has started the budget-making process, it needs to start gathering people’s ideas for Delhi. The process of gathering people’s feedback from mohalla sabhas in 11 designated Assembly constituencies will continue separately. However, officials are skeptical as nothing of this sort has been done before. “The rationality of the process could be challenged and how much of it would be put to use is yet to be seen,” a senior official said.
