Actor Varun Dhawan kicked off the shooting of Badlapur on his birthday on April 24. Dhawan started shooting for the film with a train sequence. To make the scene authentic, director Sriram Raghavan decided to take the actor on a train journey to Badlapur along with the DOP Anil Mehta. On his part, the actor interacted with a few people travelling in the train to Badlapur, to get into character.
“ The first day itself turned out to be an adventure because I wanted to capture the chaos and bustle on the station and in the train. In fact we traveled on a passenger train from Mumbai to Pune. Though he had to board the train at Dadar station during the peak hour, Varun was game for it, and that too without any security. Main Tera Hero had just released, and we were worried that he would be recognised and mobbed. A few people did recognize him, but I am sure they were too surprised to react,” said Raghavan, describing his visit to Badlapur. The crime-thriller which releases on February 20, 2015 has been presented by Eros International and Maddock Films and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
