girl-mAn 18-year-old student of animation has alleged that three senior students sexually assaulted him and recorded a video of the incident for extortion.

The 18-year-old is studying animation at the Asian Graphics and Animation institute in Noida. Police said a case of ragging, unnatural sex and extortion has been registered and they are looking for the three students.

All four students lived in a private hostel in Noida Sector-46. Police said the student alleged that he had been assaulted on April 15. “They had beaten me previously, but this time they had hit me repeatedly with their slippers.

Two of them hit me, while another senior recorded the incident on his mobile phone. They also threatened to kill me and showed me a gun. They said they would make the video public unless I paid them Rs 5,000,” he alleged.

The student alleged that he had informed the college management about the incident, following which the college authorities had seized the mobile phones of the three students.

Police said after the incident, the college management arranged transport for the 18-year-old to be taken home, where he narrated the incident to his parents. The student and his father then came to Noida to lodge a police complaint.

“A case has been lodged under the Anti-Ragging Act, 2010, and under Sections 377/511, 504, 506, 384, 341 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code. We have also obtained the MMS clips and identified the students involved. A team has been sent to Jalandhar and Gorakhpur — the cities from where the students hail — to arrest those named in the FIR,” DSP Shivram Yadav said.

The college management said the students had been having a dispute in the hostel.

“They were staying together for the last eight months and during this time, no mention of ragging was made. But as soon as the incident was reported, we formed a five-member panel committee and discussed it with the three students involved.

All three of them had copies of the video and they told us that they had an argument which later turned into a fight. As the victim was assaulted, we arranged for a taxi to take him back home. We have rusticated two students from the institute,” Sandeep Marwah, director of the institute, said.
