Noida: 50-year-old murdered over property dispute

An FIR under IPC sections pertaining to murder has been registered against the seven men – all residents of Badoli village. No arrests had been made till late Wednesday evening.

A 50-year-old man was murdered and his 21-year old son was severely injured by a group of seven people in Badoli village in Gautam Budh Nagar Wednesday over a property dispute.

According to the police, the incident took place Wednesday morning when Jagdish and his son, Dharmendra, were on their way to a local court. “They were allegedly stopped by a group of men who were carrying weapons. The victim and the accused were involved in a property dispute. While Jagdish succumbed to injuries, his son is recuperating at Yathartha Hospital in Noida,” said Abhishek Yadav, Superintendent of Police (Rural).

The police added while the accused in the case belong to Gujjar community, the victims belong to a minority group. The body of Jagdish has been sent for post-mortem, police said. Following the incident, residents of the village blocked the Yamuna Expressway alleging lack of action by the local administration.
