Many temple roads to be closed this Janmashtami

Several routes in the city will be closed for traffic on Friday on account of Janmashtami.

Several routes in the city will be closed for traffic on Friday on account of Janmashtami.

Diversions are planned,effective from 2 pm for both buses and cars,near Laxmi Narain Mandir,New Delhi area,Gufawala Mandir in Preet Vihar,Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth,Santoshi Mata Mandir,Hari Nagar,Iskcon Temple in Sant Nagar and Janmashtami Park,Punjabi Bagh.

Some of the diversion points are Panchkuian Road-Mandir Marg T-point,GPO roundabout and Kali Bari Marg-Bhai Veer Singh Marg,Gole Market roundabout,Kali Bari Marg T-point,Kali Bari Marg-Udyan Marg towards Mandir Marg,Peshwa Road-Udyan Marg,Talkatora Stadium roundabout and Park Street-Mandir Marg.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg said: “No vehicle will be allowed to park along the procession routes.”

Those who wish to visit Laxmi Narain Mandir will have to take the road from the Kali Bari Marg side. All other routes to the temple will be closed. Additional CP (New Delhi) K C Dwivedi said: “No traffic will be allowed on Mandir Marg between Panchkuian Road roundabout,Park Street roundabout on Kali Bari Marg,Udyan Marg and Peshwa Road.”
