A day after a 30-year-old man from Manipur was beaten up by four unidentified men in Gurgaon’s Chakkarpur Village, the police are yet to zero in on the assailants.

According to sources, two police teams are currently investigating the attack on Lal Bruce Thangkhal and they have already carried out raids in Chakkarpur.

The police are also trying to obtain footage from CCTV cameras installed nearby to identify the four men, said a senior police official.

The police said that Thangkhal, who was discharged from the hospital Thursday, had not suffered any internal injuries. According to medical reports, Thangkhal’s “right shoulder was fractured because of the force with which he was pushed on the road”.

“We are not safe anywhere. We are waiting for Bruce to get better and then we will decide on the next course of action,” said a relative of the victim.

On Tuesday evening, Bruce, media in-charge of the North East Support Centre and Helpline in Gurgaon, was brutally assaulted by some men while he was returning from a party. His friend Amy Niang witnessed the assault and tried to help him, but she was pushed aside, said sources.

Bruce received 15 stitches on his head but his condition is stable now, said doctors.
