Days after a 30-year-old man was found with his throat slit in a DDA Park in Gandhi Vihar, two persons have been arrested in connection with the case, said police. The accused have been identified as Shiv Kumari (45) and Mohammad Wasir, said DCP (north) Madhur Verma.

Police said during investigation, it was found that the victim, Rahul, had met Shiv Kumari in February this year. He was a bus driver at a school where she worked as a teacher. The two allegedly got close, said the officer.

Police said Rahul’s friend Mohammad Wasir worked as a loader with a cold drink distributor company in old Delhi.

Through Rahul, Wasir also met Shiv Kumari, said the officer. Later, Rahul suspected that Shiv Kumari was cheating on him and growing close to Wasir. He threatened Wasir and asked him to stay away from Kumari, said an officer. Irked by Rahul’s interference, Kumari and Wasir allegedly planned to murder Rahul. They also sought the help of a local goon to execute their plan.

As per the plan, Rahul was invited by Shiv Kumari to meet her at the Gandhi Vihar park where the goon and Wasir were waiting for him. They allegedly caught hold of Rahul and strangled him. Wasir then slit his throat, said the officer. Further investigation in the case is underway, said a police officer.
