A 41-year-old man was arrested on Sunday on the charge of raping his 12-year-old daughter repeatedly over the last three months. The arrest was made after the girl revealed the assault in the Rohini court during the hearing of a domestic violence petition filed by her mother.
Police said a search was on for the mans accomplice, who also allegedly raped the girl. The incident was reported from Outer Delhis Kanjhawala area.
Police said the man is a daily wage labourer. The arrest was made following a complaint by the girl and her mother on Saturday. The medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape, a police officer said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a few months ago,the man had filed for divorce. Police said his wife had also filed a case of domestic violence against him in the Rohini court.
On Saturday afternoon, the girl came with her mother to the Rohini court for the hearing. During the hearing, the girl told the court that she was sexually abused by her father and one of his associates. They first raped her in January and then repeatedly continued the assault, the officer said.
Police said the accused threatened the girl with dire consequences if she informed her mother about the assault.
