A 22-year-old man walked into a police station in Alipur,Outer Delhi on Monday morning and reportedly confessed that he had killed the husband of a woman he loved. The man,Ranjit, was arrested and a case of murder registered against him.

Ranjit,a resident of Tipri Khaddar area, told police that he had killed one Ram (32).

“Ranjit told us that he loved Ram’s wife. She did not reciprocate his feelings. Assuming that she would start loving him if he killed Ram,Ranjit plotted the murder,” Additional DCP (Outer) M A Rizvi said.

“Ranjit had called Ram to his house on pretext of showing him a house with low rent. There,he stabbed Ram with a knife and killed him,” Rizvi said.

According to sources,Ranjit wanted to marry Ram’s wife and had proposed to her many times. She had always rejected his proposal.

The two had a heated argument there, following which Ranjit stabbed Ram several times. “Ranjit was with the body the whole night. He surrendered on morning,” a senior police officer said.
