Campaigning for the December 4 Assembly elections drew to a close on Monday evening,with parties and candidates making their last fervent appeals.

As for the BJPs Chief Ministerial candidate Dr Harsh Vardhan,it was his wife Nutan,along with local leaders,who held fort at his Krishna Nagar constituency,while he completed a final lap across the city.
She travelled to various parts of the constituency to attend local programmes. En route,she fielded calls from workers from other areas.
For the newest entrant in Delhis political arena,Aam Aadmi Party,the last day of campaigning turned quite eventful as it chose to campaign in the Delhi Metro.

Prem,a volunteer,travelled to Chhattarpur wearing a huge placard which said,Is Baar Chalegi Jhaadoo. He was tired,as he had slept at 3 am that morning. But that didnt curb his enthusiasm as he waded through the crowded compartments,talking to passengers about the party.
Meanhwile,the BJPs top brass came together at the partys headquarters to stage a show of support for its CM candidate Harsh Vardhan and the Delhi unit.
Confident of victory with an overwhelming majority,national president Rajnath declared that BJP would succeed in grabbing almost 40-50 seats in the capital.
Gathered at the office were Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley,Harsh Vardhan,the Delhi unit chief Vijay Goel and senior leader V K Malhotra,who too were emphatic about a comfortable majority.
Asked about Modi’s remarks that the EC was being unfair to the BJP,Singh said,If there are cases of liquor and money being distributed by the Congress,I believe the EC will take cognisance of it.
Unlike senior leaders,Singh,however,refused to comment on the AAP factor.
According to a party source,mentioning the AAP would mean acknowledging the party.
In his address,Jaitley took a dig at the Congress saying that the central leadership had abandoned Dikshit who was campaigning all alone. In every election,the losing party at least puts up a fight,but the Congress has even refused to fight this time, he said.
