Twenty-seven Aam Aadmi Party MLAs led by Arvind Kejriwal on Monday met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and told him that delay in dissolving the Delhi Assembly was “encouraging horse trading”.

“We met L-G and explained to him the current political situation and also possible horse trading which may take place. Such a government will do no good,” AAP MLA and former Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti told reporters.

Bharti said the L-G told them that he would talk to both the Congress and BJP and soon send a report on the matter to the President.

Soon after the meeting, Kejriwal tweeted, “Met LG. Had good discussions. He will now invite BJP for discussions. If BJP claims they can form govt, LG will ask them to show nos.

“We told him that delay in dissolving assembly was encouraging horse trading,” Kejriwal said.

On Monday AAP had claimed that BJP was “running away” from fresh elections in the national capital and also questioned Congress’s “silence” over whether or not it wants the Delhi Assembly to be dissolved.

“The double-meaning statements and consistent U-turns by BJP on the current political situation in Delhi makes it clear that it is running away from fresh elections and wants to resort to the ‘Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram’ culture, against which Supreme Court had warned on April 17 of this year,” an AAP spokesperson had said.

On the other hand, Congress’s silence on whether it is willing to officially communicate in writing to the Lt Governor and Supreme Court that Delhi Assembly should be dissolved proves that it is indirectly supporting BJP’s ‘Aya Ram, Gaya Ram’ brand of politics, he had said.

AAP said that during the hearing of its petition challenging the central government’s decision to keep the Delhi Assembly in suspended animation instead of dissolving it, Supreme Court had observed on April 17 that, “Nothing should be done which facilitates ‘Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram’ (or horse-trading brand of politics) in the Assembly.”

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said, “We told the Governor that delay in dissolving Assembly was encouraging horse trading. We had resigned on February 14 and after that  the Assembly was kept in suspension. We had then also recommended that the Assembly should be dissolved.

“We told him that there is no possibility of government  formation now. Congress with its eight MLAs have already said that they will neither take nor give support,” he said.

Sisodia said the LG assured them that he will hold a discussion with all parties including BJP and will then send a detailed report to the President.

“However, he said that if any party is indulging in horse trading, then he cannot help as it doesn’t fall under his jurisdiction,” Sisodia said

As for BJP, the AAP leader said the party didn’t form government when it had 32 MLAs then how will they form government with 29 MLAs.

The statement of BJP Delhi state leaders that BJP will explore the possibilities of forming the government in Delhi if called by LG casts doubts that some horse trading is going on behind the closed doors .

Why the AAP is not supporting the Congress from outside to form the Govt. Let there be Congress chief Minister and 1 Speaker and other 6 congress MLAs as Ministers, so it will be a small cabinet but will be effective and the AAP should support the congress for a period of 5 years by staying outside the Government, then we can say that AAP wants a Government to Serve the people and AAP are selfless and not selfish becoz congress supported AAP to form the Govt now AAP should show the favour by a allow to form Congress led Government in Delhi, then No horse trading as AAP will make sure that their support to the congress is unconditional and the Congress will run the Government smoothly also p the JAN LOKPAL at last year by making changes as required by the people.
