Stoking a new controversy, Delhi BJP’s election committee chairman V K Malhotra on Tuesday said there were areas in the national capital from where terror modules were being run and police could not search these areas as “extremists do not allow them to enter”.

Speaking at a press conference at the Delhi BJP office, Malhotra said areas like Jamia Nagar and Batla House have become safe houses for terrorists.

“Police are not able to conduct search operations in places like Jamia Nagar, which are the centre of terrorists. Earlier, the Congress and the AAP leaders were opposing the arrest of terrorists like Bhatkal for the sake of votes. But after Bhatkal’s interrogation, police got leads about terrorist centres and persons… the country was thus saved from large-scale terrorist violence,” his statement read.

At the press conference, Malhotra said police officers often complain about how in some areas, extremists do not allow them to enter and arrest anyone or to question any suspects.

Malhotra claimed that after interrogating alleged top Indian Mujahideen operative, Pakistani national Zia-ur-Rehman alias Waqas, the police got many vital leads and on the basis of these, many suspected Pakistani terror centres were destroyed.

“When police reached Batla House and Jamia in Okhla area on the basis of this information to arrest two youths for interrogation, the supporters of terrorists created affray. The leaders of the Congress and the AAP reached there and stopped police from interrogating them and also pressurised police to free them,” Malhotra alleged.

“The leaders of the Congress and the AAP are helping in keeping these areas safe for terrorists,” the BJP leader said.

“If any such terrorist incident occurs, then the Congress and the AAP leaders will be fully responsible for it… There are many centres of Pakistani ISI active in India and the danger is still there. These terrorists were targeting public meetings of future

Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the behest of Pakistan and planning to trigger riots before Lok sabha elections,” Malhotra’s statement alleged.

“The alleged IM terrorist from Pakistan Waqas has revealed that they were planning to deploy human bombs at Modi meetings,” it said.
