The two alleged Indian Mujahideen operatives whose arrest was announced on Thursday had told neighbour in Pul Prahladpur that they were students. Asad Khan and Imran Khan stayed at the Southeast Delhi house for five to six days, police said.
Neighbours told Newsline that one of them had a beard and usually carried a rucksack. They did not talk to us and kept to themselves. Among them was a man with a heavy built, bushy beard and mustache. He once told me that he was a student at a nearby institute, said Ajay Kumar,a resident.
The Raggi ke flats,as the apartment complex is popularly known,is a four-storey building in GD Block of Pul Prahladpur. Asad and Imran came to stay there on September 20-21.
Police said the flat was booked by Raju bhai who is absconding. Neighbours said they hardly saw Asad and Imran in the house.
Sangeeta, another neighbour, said she saw the two carrying large black bags a few weeks ago. I was standing in my balcony and I saw two men entering the flat with huge black bags. I wondered,if they are students, why do they have so much luggage. They had hired a tempo to get those heavy bags, she said.
Residents said the owner of the flat lived in Faridabad.
