Protesting against the hike in power tariff, members of BJP held demonstrations in Bawana on Monday.

Addressing the gathering,Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta said a party delegation would meet Deputy Commissioner of Police on October 17 to demand expeditious probe into the “conspiracy” to hike power tariff.

“If investigation is not undertaken in the case and the guilty persons are not punished, the BJP will stage a strong protest at Delhi Police Headquarters,” he said.

He said he was implicated in false cases.

He alleged that Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC),the government and the power companies were hand-in-glove. “The companies were looting thousands of crores by increasing power tariff but the accounts were not being audited deliberately. BJP has lodged a case against power companies, government and the DERC so that an inquiry into the conspiracy can be started and the guilty persons punished,” Gupta said.

He also said if BJP comes to power,it would reduce power tariff first and review all “anti-people” decisions of the Dikshit government. He said the BJP would also order a probe ordered into “corruption” by this government.
