Two officers of the Delhi Police have been conferred the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 16 have been given the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the eve of Independence Day

Two officers of the Delhi Police have been conferred the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 16 have been given the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the eve of Independence Day.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Anil Kumar Ojha and ACP Hari Singh Rawat have been awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Inspector Jitender Singh,Inspector Ritambra Prakash,SI Chand Singh and ASI Sheelawati are among those who have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Anil Kumar Ojha is presently posted as Additional Commissioner of Police (Southwest). He joined the Delhi Andaman Nicobar Island Police Service in 1983 and has rendered more than 30 years of outstanding service in various capacities. He earned appreciation from Ministry of Home Affairs for his work shown during 1984 riots. He was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2002 and Police Aantrik Suraksha Seva Padak in 2009.

Hari Singh Rawat is presently posted as ACP. He has worked in different Districts of the Delhi Police in various posts including Additional SHO of Timar Pur,SHO of Rajouri Garden and Pandav Nagar. He was instrumental in solving the murder of a student in Rajender Nagar. He has worked with CBI on deputation and earned appreciation from Director CBI and also from the Customs and Excise Department of the United Kingdom. He was awarded Police medial for Meritorious Service in 2000.
